An identical base
The DétruiRAT® Mini-Prise and Dead or Alive traps are manufactured on the same basis and have identical programming.
They can trap and electrocute a rat, mouse or other rodent in a single night. The only difference is that Dead or Alive offers the option of capturing the animal, dead or alive.
An electrocution cell
When a rat enters the trap, an infrared barrier activates two electromagnets which cause the two doors to close in less than 120 milliseconds. Trapped, the rat tries to escape and heads for the electrocution cell, where it receives a 6,000 V shock, electrocuting it instantly and painlessly.
The pipe leading to the electrocution cell has an internal diameter of 75 mm. Mice, young rats, adult rats and dominant rats can squeeze through to the electrocution cell without any problem. Hedgehogs, pigeons, chickens, adult cats and other animals too large to pass through the 75 mm tube will not be electrocuted and will remain in the trap.
Caution for pets
Use extreme caution with pets such as kittens, chicks, birds or other animals, as the trap does not discriminate and will electrocute any animal or bird that can reach the electrocution cell. DétruiRAT® traps cannot distinguish between protected animals and other rodents.
After trapping and electrocution, the Maxi-Prise automatically resets itself after five minutes and has no catch limit. It stops trapping once the tray is full.

Malgré cette sécurité et s’il existe un risque avéré de piéger des oiseaux ou des animaux de compagnie, optez pour le piège DétruiRAT® Vif ou le piège DétruiRAT® Mort ou Vif réglé en position « vif ».
Après une capture, si vous le souhaitez, vous pouvez relâcher l’animal ou l’oiseau capturé, et si vous avez piégé un rongeur, vous pouvez tourner le levier en position « Mort » : il sera électrocuté dès qu’il atteindra la cellule d’électrocution.
Si le piège a effectué une capture à la lumière du jour ou en présence d’une source d’éclairage suffisante, un bip vous avertira. Suivez les informations affichées sur l’écran. Vous pouvez évacuer le cadavre sans aucun contact à l’aide d’une pelle ou d’une ramassette.
230V-12V DC adapter connection
Each trap is supplied with a 230 V - 12 V DC adaptor. Never use another adaptor or an adaptor from another type of DétruiRAT® trap, as each type of DétruiRAT® trap has its own type of adaptor.
The 230 V - 12 V DC adapter has a 2-metre cord and is located in the battery box.
Connect the adapter's male lead to the trap's female lead. The battery door is located on the top right-hand side of the trap.
To access the battery, lift this door. At the battery location, in the rear wall, you'll find a hole through which you can pass the cord to the back of the trap, preventing cables from dragging on the ground or across the face of the trap.
Once the power supply is connected, press down on the electromagnet pivot and manually lift the two doors. The electromagnet pivot closes and locks the door.
Take care not to place any bait under the door, as this could prevent the door from locking.
Setting the trap
To activate the trap, turn the lever to the right to position 1. The lever is an integral part of the door that gives access to the electrocution cell. It is used to start the trap and lock access to the electrocution cell.
The trap has two safety devices, one resting on the face of the electrocution cell and the other activated by the lever when the trap is locked.
By turning the lever a quarter turn to the right to position 1, you activate the trap.
The trap in action
A short beep followed by a second short beep will tell you that it has been switched on correctly, and the display will show 12 V.
A long repetitive beep will indicate a fault. The digital display will give you information about the problem.
Before starting the trap, refer to the description of the beeps and information on the screen.
For the Dead or Live trap, by loosening the small knob on the lever, you can position the lever in "dead" or "live" mode. By default, the trap is set to "live" mode.
